Colour of the Year 2025-Cardinal:

Colour of the Year 2025—Cardinal elicits the warmth of nostalgia, the serenity of meditation, or the bittersweet beauty of growth, it embodies a profound sense of inner harmony—an ever-shifting interplay of light, color, and emotion.

This story unfolds through an immersive installation designed to evoke a deeper range of emotions—mystery, melancholy, intrigue, and profound introspection. This dreamlike environment is woven from translucent textiles, their shifting opacities revealing a choreography of depth and light. Each layer flows into the next with meticulous cohesion, seamlessly transitioning, playing with depth, opacity, and nuanced hues. On closer inspection, the finer details come alive through delicate hand embroidery, screen-printed and frayed surfaces. The dynamic play of light illuminates hidden nuances embedded within each layer of textile, inviting visitors into a deeper sensory exploration.

Salt:

Salt, a mineral omnipresent in our daily lives, is being rediscovered as the biomaterial of the future—available in abundance with extraordinary potential. With its crystalline beauty and delicate strength, salt carries a story forged over millennia.

At a time when global sustainability goals are driving a shift towards abundant, natural resources, salt emerges as an emblem of possibility, proving that the simplest materials can inspire awe and wonder.

India Everywhere:

The narrative for India Everywhere comes alive through a breathtaking installation of metallic surfaces that flow through the space like a gleaming river which depicts India’s rich history along with its modern aspirations. This experimental surface is meticulously handwoven on a loom at the Wari Watai studio space with copper wires, along with aluminium and cotton accents, wherein interlocked tubular pockets accommodate the industrial structure, transforming into a multi dimensional sculptural form.

While copper bridges the gap between tradition and industrial finishing, it is also a material closely connected to Indian culture embodying a deep sense of rootedness, exuding raw, expressive beauty more attuned to a contemporary aesthetic.

Bad Taste?:

Bad Taste? is an audacious expression that breaks away from notions of ‘quiet luxury’ as dictated by those with generational wealth.

The space has captured an alternate visual sensibility that is different from the usual ‘sophisticated’, ‘understated’ and generally accepted as being tasteful. This deliberately curated experience counters this broader established definition with more audacious and louder forms, colours and objects.

Objects and forms carefully designed and produced with the right choice of material languages and techniques make the space come together as a unified whole. The idea of ‘Bad Taste’ is further accentuated by the use of unabashed and over-the-top decadent textile artworks, glass frames juxtaposed with carpeted floors and playful tiles.

Feel More:

‘Feel More’ unfolds as an immersive and installation designed to awaken emotions and wonder, inviting viewers on a tranquil journey through layers of translucent fabrics and delicately woven mohair panels—embroidered and hand printed. This ethereal environment largely woven within our studio space beckons you to pause, breathe and awaken your senses.

Soft gradients of colour flow seamlessly across panels, echoing the gentle washes of watercolour, drawn from outdoor landscapes expressed in the innocence of a child’s hand—whisper stories of nature’s simplicity. The interplay of hues and textures conjures a hazy, abstract landscape, where tranquility meets intrigue.

As you draw closer, the delicate craftsmanship reveals itself: each stitch, every fiber variation, and tiny hidden treasures woven into the panels beckon deeper exploration. These tactile details transform the experience, inviting you into a meditative journey of discovery—where the small, subtle, and the intricate become moments of quiet reflection.

Enriched by dynamic light, the space shifts and breathes, amplifying its immersive, dream-like quality. The dynamic lighting creates an atmosphere that is both relaxing and filled with gentle wonder, a space where curiosity is nurtured and the ordinary feels extraordinary.
